Watch Servicing

How We Service

We will let you know the factory tolerances of the movement – many wristwatches can be improved upon factory tolerances once the work is complete.

For some very worn watches restoring to factory tolerances may not be possible. We will always let you know our accuracy expectations before commencing work.

The servicing of manual watches starts at £250 excluding replacement parts.

Quartz repairs start from £100 excluding replacement parts and return postage.

Time to completion is currently 4-6 weeks. The time to completion is influenced by the shipping times of parts.  However, an express service is also available on request

Servicing matters more in the long term as technology improves.

Older watch oils used substantially thicken over time often stopping a watch. Modern watch oils provide significantly better performance and protection but are less likely to thicken and stop a watch.

If a watch is not serviced regularly (roughly 3-5 years) significant wear can occur, the watch is still running often keeping good time.  Oil is mixed with dirt and creates a grinding paste rapidly wearing the parts.

Over the long run it's substantially cheaper to maintain a working watch rather than repairing it when it breaks – part prices for vintage watch parts are on the rise.

You will always know the exact price before work is started.
